How the Whatnot fee estimate works

For a standard US sale, Whatnot calculates commission as a percentage of the final item price. Payment processing is generally 2.9% + $0.30of the total order value—including buyer-paid shipping and tax. This distinction is why two items with the same sale price can produce slightly different fees.

What this estimate does not include

  • • Temporary or seller-specific commission promotions
  • • Taxes charged on seller fees in applicable locations
  • • Refunds, label adjustments, supplies, or other business expenses
  • • Currency conversion or rates outside the United States

Use actual fees when the sale is complete

A pre-sale calculator is useful for pricing, but your completed report contains the actual amounts deducted. Use the free CSV profit analyzer to review those real transactions, or read the Whatnot seller fees guide, or estimate seller-paid postage with the Whatnot shipping calculator.
